Incoming Archery Qualifiers
By: Jenna and Khloe
Do you know what is happening in archery? If you thought the archery qualifier was the next big thing happening in archery, you were correct! The coach of South Side archery, Clark Holiday, has been busy teaching about 20 students how to shoot like a pro! He has been teaching for 40 years. That’s a lot! Students in training only use one type of bow, which is called the Genesis.
Archery qualifiers take in students to see if they are able to make it onto the team. After qualifiers we have competitions. There is state, national, and many more sections of the competition. This year we actually have enough students to make a team, so South Side might be winning state, national, or even world competitions! Be sure to encourage classmates who are in archery to try their best!
Volleyball
Although the volleyball season is over, the ladies really dominated at their games. They showed teamwork by helping each other. The coaches, Ms. Roberts and Mrs. Opper, tried their best to get the ladies to do their best at the games. The games went well and the scores showed the teams’ effort. For the first year in a long time, both of the teams only lost one game! At the last game, one team went 1-1 and the other unfortunately lost two games. Even though they didn’t win all of the games, we all know that they tried their best. They showed a great effort to win all of the games, and show that they could be a team. Most importantly, the team showed that they had fun out there! Good job ladies, and thank you for your teamwork at the games!
